Kamloops Children

These useless tears

Flowing down these useless cheeks.

These useless hands

These useless feet

This useless mind

That cannot change the river’s course.

This useless pain

This useless scream

This wicked trick they play

again.

This cruelty

dressed in robes

This ignorance

posing as wisdom

This vanity

parading as righteousness

This vile depravity

stealing innocence with impunity.

These useless words.

This big grave

For so many little bodies.
